The center of the Worpswede Art Spring, this beautifully designed modern museum with a rotunda built of red brick and hand-painted clinker bricks. Contemporary art is displayed alongside former artists of the colony. Also featured here is the Barkenhoff painting by Heinrich Vogeler and a modern adaptation.
The exhibitions were always changing, so every visit (three years in a row) was always a treat. It was also lovely that children were allowed to exhibit their work.
A beautiful, spacious museum with fantastic exhibits. The only downside was that some areas were closed due to renovations for a current exhibition, yet full admission prices were still charged. Nevertheless, it was a worthwhile visit.
