The house has been beautifully renovated and lovingly combines old and new elements of the Appenzell wooden building tradition. Breakfast is a real delight and is served with love by the host couple. We can highly recommend the Hotel Bären in Gais!

This great small hotel has not only a grest view, but also a friendly staff and a superb kitchen. They serve really great food with a subtle touch to everything, presented with much attention to detail! Also superb local wines and schnapps. A great relaxing stay that charged up our batteries during an exhausting tour !
